Louise Hewitt, Chair

Dear all,

Its been a few weeks since I last blogged, my apologies for being slack!! The league ended with another resounding win by the Royal Rockets, long may they reign after I've departed......

Craig is taking training on a Monday at WGC, 6-8pm. We are then beginning our 'beach' korfball competition in the lead up to xmas, for more info contact Rae at league@wellingtonkorfball.org.nz

The club are currently preparing for another NPC, unfortunately we've only had 8 weeks to bask in the glory of our successful win in Wellington. Thanks to the coaching of Tim and the fact Hayley has male friends in Auckland we are taking two teams to the capital to retain our title. Lets not forget...

W E L L I N G T O N we are the best, we are the best, we are Wellington!!!!!

Lou x

The social beat...
6 September 2007

malo family!

There was a fairly average turnout at the pub on monday, but we had a good yarn, some taters, and saw some amazing goals from the premiership while re-living our own fantabulous baskets!

Next korfball related event, apart from the obvious 15 and 16 september NPC and surrounding events, is september 22.

A number of us are going to head to the shepherds arms on timakori road around 3ish for beer and kai, before heading to the ring of fire to see the phoenix smash adelaide.
come one, come all, let me know early and i'll buy some tickets in a block so we can heckle, chant and jeer to our hearts content!

take it easy team.

DG out.

Training & Pub - TONIGHT
With the NPC in Auckland this weekend and then beach korfball from Monday 12 November, tonight will be the final club “training session” of the year and its pub night too! Come along and join in for $5 and then come to the Backbencher for discounted social drinks.

National Provincial Championship, Auckland, 10-11 Nov
Good luck to both Wellington teams traveling up to the Auckland NPC this weekend. With most players making three training sessions a week for the past couple of weeks we’re in with a great chance of retaining the trophy. “W-E-LL-I—N-G-T-O-N, we are the best, we are the best we are Wellington…”

Beach Korfball Wellington Girls College Playing Fields, Monday 12 November, 6pm onwards
From the 12 of November we’ll be running a beach korfball league up until the Christmas break as a wind down to a very successful year. Anyone and everyone can enter and you only need teams of four (2 senors & 2 senoritas). See Rae for details, pick up a form and enter...

Good riddance... To Paul “Lecko” Leck...
For a few weeks at least, as he’s heading off on a road trip in the good old US of A. Rumor has it he may be resurfacing in Auckland in the not too distant future.

Congratulations... To Raewyn Tse
Finally a big well done to Rae (and all the secret people who nominated her) for she has been recognized as: Sport Wellingtons “Volunteer of the Month” for her tireless work towards all things Welly & Korf. Well Done.
